February can be so cold and wintry, but also brings us reasons to celebrate - like the Lunar New Year, Ground Hog Day, Valentine's Day...

The Lunar New Year starts on February 1st. The animal this year is the Water Tiger. Learn more here.

Groundhog Day is February 2nd. Things have certainly felt like the movie Groundhog Day, staring Bill Murray.  It is a rather odd tradition, but hopefully, Punxsutawney Phil won't see his shadow this year. I'm not sure I can handle six more weeks of winter.

Valentines Day - February 14th. Love is in the air! Unconditional love is one of the hardest things to work towards. There are many types of love: love of self, love of others, love of animals. It can be passionate burning so bright free and chaotic, or like a gentle smolder that is warm and safe. During this time it is a reminder to show compassion (love) towards yourself BEFORE giving it to others. If you find yourself without a significant other this year, or have been feeling a little blue, I invite you to take the time to pamper yourself. Remember all the things that bring you joy, all the beautiful things that make up you. Maybe that includes scheduling a session with one of our practitioners, maybe it includes a spa day, or a yoga class. Do whatever you feel gives you the warm and fuzzies.

Something to look forward to, as the hours of sunlight are lengthening every day. Even with the snow piled high all around us, we can start to feel that the coming of Spring is not so far away - no matter what that groundhog says!

Best Wishes & Good Health,
Teri Calandra, L.Ac.
