Happy January, mga Ka-UPAAT!
Hello 2022!

We ended 2021 with a fun-filled Virtual Holiday Party hosted by our Socials and Events Committee. Last year's party initiated the first fundraiser for UPAAT's Sagip Pilipinas - a fundraising program dedicated to responding to communities in need during natural disasters and calamities back home.
VIRTUAL HOLIDAY PARTY...WITH A CAUSE

Members enjoyed rounds of fun games during the  UPAAT Virtual Holiday Party on December 28, 2021 which concluded with a Christmas toast.

We also met Visayas State University Student Council President Chelcie Pahila who gave an overview of the current conditions of communities affected by Typhoon Odette and their plan to do relief in the province of Antique.

Tito Mogi Mogado awarded portraits he created to Ester Toribio and Bayani Bernabe who won the BINGO games held during the Kapitbahay in Markham.

Donors during the virtual party were also included in a raffle with Tito Mogi's personalized portrait as prize. Coincidentally, Tita Daisy Bernabe won the raffle completing the Bernabe couple's portraits!

"If you’re over 45 and have a young mentee, you will learn and experience fundamental shifts in thinking that are currently happening."
Be a Mentor now!

The EAC is compiling a list of potential mentors from our UPAAT membership to be part of the resource pool to address future mentoring needs.

We continue to receive requests for mentorship from folks seeking entry to the Canadian job market, especially for new Filipino immigrants or for those considering a career re-direction in the current employment market.

This is an ongoing program that started a year ago and will continue to serve our Filipino-Canadian community. Mentors and mentees can truly benefit from each other.
