June is Filipino Heritage Month as well as the Quincentennial Commemorations of the Philippines. We would like to acknowledge and thank all UPAAT alumni who, in their own ways, have contributed to this momentous and meaningful achievement. Filipino-Canadians have contributed to Canadian society in many valuable ways. As the third largest non-European ethnic group in Canada, we share the richness of our culture and values that are rooted in perseverance, resilience and pakikipagkapwa.
In recognition of UPAAT's contributions to the Filipino community in Canada, the Sentro Rizal Toronto of the Philippine Consulate General presented the Quincentennial Awards to UPAAT among other recipients. Watch the virtual awarding and celebration here: Filipino Heritage Celebration.
Maraming Salamat, po! To everyone who heeded the call for help of UP Philippine General Hospital, our gratitude goes out to you. A total of $990 CAD will be put towards the rehabilitation of parts of the building of UP PGH that was engulfed in fire on May 16 amidst the ongoing operations for COVID-19 patients.
Donors: Remedios Azarraga, Maria Flach, Teodulfo Cresencia, Jo Elaine Sudeikis, Maria Esel Panlaqui, Estelita and Ely Chan, and Evelyn Laraya - May you all be blessed a thousandfold!
