Join Us on Monday, January 16!

YOU'RE INVITED to Project STEP's annual Martin Luther King Jr. Legacy Celebration, which will take place this Monday, January 16th from 1-3 pm in Higginson Hall, Symphony Hall. This event is a chance for Project STEP families, staff, Board, friends, and the surrounding community to come together to honor the life and legacy of MLK Jr., and will consist of ensemble performances by all Project STEP students. Continuing an annual tradition, this celebration will also include a panel discussion featuring STEP students, faculty, parents, and local musicians of color on the intersection of classical music, race, MLK's legacy, and Project STEP. A cake reception will follow!

Free and open to the public. Please enter through the Cohen Wing door on Huntington Avenue.
But That's Not All...
After our own MLK Jr. Celebration, a quartet of Project STEP students and faculty will make their way over to NEC's Jordan Hall to participate in the Boston Children's Chorus's 14th Annual Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Tribute Concert. We are thrilled at the opportunity to work with the BCC and be a part of this event, which will feature Hamilton actor Nik Walker, Mayor Marty Walsh, and WBUR's Delores Handy (a STEP parent alum) performing to a sold out hall.

It's that time of year again...FOCUS 2017!

This year's FOCUS program will begin on Saturday, January 21st. On that day, we will welcome over 60 Kindergarteners from underrepresented communities within classical music to participate in an introductory music class.

There is still space available in this year's FOCUS program and we are continuing to accept applications. Know any eligible Kindergarten students? Send them our way ASAP and help us introduce more children to the wonderful world of music!
