Project STEP night at A Far Cry

We are incredibly lucky to be participating in a year-long residency with the dynamic, conductorless chamber orchestra A Far Cry, complete with weekly coachings, mentoring sessions, concert previews and a masterclass (pictured above with A Far Cry members Miki-Sophia Cloud and Jason Fisher).

A rotating group of Criers has been coaching the Project STEP Honors Quartet, and on March 17, that Project STEP ensemble will give a pre-concert performance at Jordan Hall before A Far Cry's concert, West of the Pecos! In addition, one Project STEP student will be joining A Far Cry onstage at Jordan to perform side by side with them on Dvorak's American Quartet, arranged for string ensemble.

We hope to see some of you there...purchase tickets today!

Masterclass with the
Apple Hill String Quartet

Earning praise around the world for their interpretive mastery of traditional repertoire, the Apple Hill String Quartet will return for a second year to share their expertise with our students. Not only is this quartet an immense source of inspiration and mentorship, but the Apple Hill Center for Chamber Music is a summer home for many of our students, where they meet other passionate musicians from around the world.

The masterclass will take place on Sunday, March 19th from 2-4 pm in Higginson Hall, Symphony Hall. Please RSVP to

Gabriel Cabezas Masterclass

On Saturday, February 25, our students received a visit from cellist Gabriel Cabezas, a sought-after musician who has performed with artists ranging from America's finest orchestras to the contemporary dance collective Duende. As a two-time first place laureate of the Sphinx Competition and a successful young professional musician, Gabriel was a dynamic source of inspiration for our students. We hope to see him again next time he is in Boston!
