Project STEP Student Competes in the 17th Annual Sphinx Competition

Tenth grade violinist Tristan will compete in the 17th Annual national Sphinx Competition from February 19th-23rd. Tristan has competed and won Second Place in the Competition in the past, and we are thrilled that he is heading to Detroit again this year. We look forward to the results and are hoping he advances to the finals where his performance would be streamed live on the Sphinx website. Members of the Project STEP staff will also be attending SphinxCon, the Sphinx Organization's convention designed to convene arts professionals on the topic of diversity. For more information about the competition and the conference, take a look at the Sphinx website.

Project STEP Celebrates
Martin Luther King Jr. Day

On Monday, January 20th, Project STEP celebrated Martin Luther King Jr.’s Birthday with several performances and gathering for our families. It was a lovely occasion to get together with our Project STEP community and a great chance to celebrate the life and legacy of MLK, Jr. We hope to make it an annual event from here on out! You can find photos from the event here.

So Far This Year

5 Project STEP students performed a mini-concert before a Concord Chamber Music Society concert on Sunday, January 26th.

15 year old violinist Tristan performed with the Cambridge Symphony Orchestra for their annual Family Concert, also on January 26th.
