Apple Hill String Quartet
at Project STEP

Join us for our final Project STEP Masterclass of the year featuring the talented Apple Hill String Quartet! This dynamic quartet performs and leads workshops in areas of conflict such as the Middle East in Turkey, Jordan, Israel, Egypt, the West Bank/Palestine, and the Greek and Turkish areas of Cyprus. They emphasize listening, observing, adjusting, sensitivity and flexibility - the same skills needed to function in today's contentious world. In this masterclass, the quartet along with Apple Hill Director and Project STEP faculty member
Leonard Matczynski will share their expertise with our students. Don't miss it!

When: Sunday, March 6th from 2-4 pm
Where: Higginson Hall, Symphony Hall

This event is free and open to the public.
Please RSVP to reserve a seat: 617-267-5777 or info@projectstep.org

So Far This Year

Harlem String Quartet Masterclass

While a few of us were spending the weekend in Detroit for the Sphinx Competition and Conference in February, the incredible Harlem Quartet was giving our lucky students a masterclass back home! We are so thankful to Ashmont Hill Chamber Music for making this experience a possibility for our students, and to all members of the quartet for their knowledge and mentorship.

Coming Up

Project STEP Benefit Concert

On Sunday, April 10th at 3 pm, Project STEP and the Triple Helix Piano Trio will present their second joint benefit concert to celebrate the life of Judith Sandler, a longtime friend of the piano trio. All proceeds from the concert will be put towards the Judith Sandler Fund, a new scholarship initiated by Triple Helix for the students of Project STEP.

This year, Project STEP and Triple Helix will be joined by some very special guests: members of the conductorless chamber orchestra A Far Cry! The concert will include works by Piazzolla and Schubert, and will feature collaborations among all three groups. Keep an eye out for a formal Save The Date with more details and ticket information.
