Proverbs 17:22 says, "A merry heart does good, like medicine..." Spend some time laughing today by reading this funny:

A woman brought a very limp duck into a veterinary surgeon. As she laid her pet on the table, the vet pulled out his stethoscope and listened to the bird’s chest. After a moment or two, the vet shook his head and sadly said, “I’m very sorry, ma’am, your duck, Cuddles, has passed away.”

The distressed woman wailed, “Are you sure?”

“Yes, I am sure. Your duck is dead,” replied the vet.

“How can you be so sure?” she protested. “I mean you haven’t done any testing on him or anything. He might just be in a coma or something.”

The vet rolled his eyes, turned around, and left the room. He returned a few minutes later with a black Labrador Retriever. As the duck’s owner looked on in amazement, the dog stood on his hind legs, put his front paws on the examination table, and sniffed the duck from top to bottom. He then looked up at the vet with sad eyes and shook his head. The vet patted the dog on the head and took it out of the room.

A few minutes later, he returned with a cat. The cat jumped on the table and also delicately sniffed the bird from head to foot. The cat sat back on its haunches, shook its head, meowed softly and strolled out of the room.

The vet looked at the woman and said, “I’m sorry, but as I said earlier, this is most definitely, 100% certifiably, a dead duck.” The vet turned to his computer terminal, hit a few keys, and produced a bill, which he handed to the woman.

The duck’s owner, still in shock, took the bill. “$150!” she cried, “$150 just to tell me my duck is dead?”

The vet shrugged, and said, “I’m sorry ma’am. If you had just taken my word for it, the bill would have been $20. But with the Lab report and the Cat scan, it’s now $150.”

Living in God's Peace

There has never been a time I can remember that the world we live in has been in more turmoil and conflict: Wars and rumors of wars, gas prices, food prices and inflation at an all-time high. Political leaders of both parties holding one another in contempt, rather than working together to resolve major problems in our nation. Residual fears regarding Covid and the mask and vaccine mandates across the globe. These and other challenging circumstances work to produce fear and anxiety in people.

Jesus told us how to deal with and respond to such issues in life: “Peace I leave with you, My peace I give to you; not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid” (John 14:27). Paul confirms this statement by Jesus in II Corinthians 13:11 when he tells us to “…live in peace…”.

The world’s idea of peace is the temporary absence of problems and difficulties. Jesus and Paul’s idea of peace is the presence of God in the midst of problems and difficulties. The number one plan of the enemy is to move us out of God’s peace. If he can accomplish that through the problems he stirs up in relationships or in the world, he can take advantage of us through our response of fear and anxiety. One example of this is found in Mark 4:35-40 where Jesus directs His disciples to get in the boat and go to the other side.

Change lives by partnering with our ministry!
In Luke chapter five Jesus asked Peter for the use of his boat for the purpose of increasing the effectiveness and influence of His ministry. Multitudes had gathered on a large hillside adjacent to Lake Gennesaret. Without a modern sound system, Jesus needed assistance to amplify His voice as He taught the multitudes. This was accomplished by Jesus using Peter’s boat on the water where the wind from the lake would serve as His sound system in that setting.

No doubt many were delivered, healed and set free that day. Peter let Jesus use his boat (which represented his business) and his resources to fulfill His ministry. That is exactly what you can do through your investment in our ministry! And you will have a huge part in the reward for all of those we will be able to reach and see saved, healed, filled with the Spirit, and discover their kingdom purpose.

When Jesus finished using Peter’s boat for His ministry, He did not forget about Peter’s business. Remember, Peter had fished all night the night before and caught nothing. Jesus told him where to cast his nets and they brought in a great catch of fish. As He did for Peter, He will do for you. He is not unfaithful to forget the seed you have sown from your business and resources into our ministry. When you give to advance the kingdom, multiplication and increase will come your way!
