Happy Holidays!!
Read on to find out what has been happening at the Regional JAM office in the past few months.

Seasons Greetings from Regional JAM!

We hope everyone has had a happy holiday season and we send the best wishes for 2014!  Here is what we are looking at for the new year and beyond:

New JAM programs in Virginia & North Carolina

JAM, Inc continues to work with communities to develop JAM programs for children across Appalachia.  We even hope to expand beyond our three existing states.  Where exactly will 2014 take us?!

We are happy to announce that Franklin County JAM will be starting this January at Burnt Chimney Elementary School in Wirtz, VA!  For more information about this new program, please contact us at or (276) 773-0573.

Expanding Resources to Affiliates

Our 24 affiliated programs will continue to receive resources from us, as always.  This includes instruments on loan (when available), instrument strings, passports for monitoring student progress, teacher guides, administrator guides, and so much more!

In 2014, we are going to be creating Effective Teaching videos for fiddle, banjo, guitar, mandolin and a few other subject areas. Stay tuned to hear our progress on these and watch them when they come out :)

Recent Happenings

Our affiliates have been busy with end of the semester and holiday concerts.
If you didn't catch one this year, stay in touch to find out when the spring concerts will be.
It is amazing to watch so many kids demonstrate how  much they have learned all year!

Our two regional teacher workshops were great this year! Collectively at both workshops, we had nearly 40 different JAM and YAM teachers attend to learn  about differentiating their instructional styles to match learning types. These sharing workshops enable participants to learn from one another by giving everyone a chance to talk about their challenges, successes, and strategies in the traditional music education classroom.

Our usual holiday fundraiser concert event has been postponed 'til Spring!  Stay tuned for what we have planned!

To find out more about what our affiliates are up to, stay in touch through our Facebook and our website
Best Wishes in 2014!

Brett Morris Martin, Interim Executive Director

Without the support of our private donors, JAM, Inc, a 501(c)(3), would not be able to exist.   We thank each of you so much for your help and kindness throughout this holiday season!  We are also continually thankful and extend much gratitude to our grantmakers and other corporate sponsors.
