Unity at Swarthmore Dog Show
Every Mother's Day, there's a fun and funny dog show on College Field behind the Swarthmore Community Center. The festivities begin at 1:30 with 15 amusing categories. Grab your pooch and be sure to stop by the Unity table. We'll cheer you on and share some goodies!

Pet Food Drive
We're continuing our pet food drive for the Loaves and Fishes Food Pantry. We invite you to bring unopened dog or cat food and place it in the donation basket located in Unity’s waiting room. Learn more about the pet food drive.

Courtyard in Progress
Preparations have begun on the Unity Courtyard. We've taken down one tree, graded the site, and added fencing. You can follow the progess in our courtyard construction photo gallery.
Got old towels, sheets, and blankets?
We need them! We would love your donations to help us line cages and more. Thanks!

Thinking About Getting a Real Bunny for Easter? Here Are Some Things You May Not Have Considered

Everybody loves furry bunnies.  And everybody loves the joy and doggedness of kids hunting for their basket of holiday booty on Easter morning. It’s so fun to see their elation when finding their treasure and exploring the contents. If you are thinking about including a live bunny as part of that Easter gifting, we’d like you to think about some things before acting. And then think again. And hard. Unity at Bark for Life

Unity is sponsoring the annual Bark for Life at Rosetree Park on April 27, 2014. Bark for Life is a fun animal-themed event as well as a fundraiser for the American Cancer Society. Come check us out and all the other great sponsors, vendors, and activities. We will also have a Unity Team for the dog relay. Meet the current team members below. Click each dog to sponsor them. We need donations, but also welcome additional dogs to our team. Join the Unity Team here. All proceeds go to the American Cancer Society.

Spring Pet Safety

It's been a tough winter and pets are as thrilled as their owners to finally welcome the arrival of spring. But each season has its collection of hazards for your pet. Much as we like to see you and your fur babies, we'd rather you keep them safe than have them at Unity for a preventable emergency! Please keep these safety tips in mind.

Unity Welcomes Summer Externs

Unity is thrilled to welcome several student externs this summer.  Coming from local colleges, the externs are all considering a career in veterinary medicine and will use this experience to help them decide on their career path.  By shadowing Unity’s vets and nurses in appointments and surgery, students will get a behind-the-scenes look at just what it means to practice veterinary medicine.  Providing education and mentorship is central to Unity’s mission, and the staff are all very excited to share their knowledge and experience with local students.

We hope to see you and your pet for an appointment.  Call 610-285-9889 or email to schedule.

Monday, Wednesday: 8 am – 8 pm
