Sunday Communion via Zoom

July 5th at 8:30 AM, 9:30 AM, 11 AM

Sunday July 5, is the first Sunday of the month and we will follow our usual practice of celebrating the Lord’s Supper as part of our online worship. To do so, we invite you to participate in one of the following ways:
  1. Follow the video presentation of the Lord’s Supper as part of our online worship format.
  2. Join with others in one of three Zoom gatherings (scheduled at 8:30, 9:30, and 11:00 AM) as Emily, Kent or Colleen directs us to partake of the communion elements in unison. We will use the same Zoom link for all three communion times; join us at your preferred time. (A different Zoom link is provided below for our fellowship later at 11:30 AM PDT.)
  3. Phone Colleen Soldate (707) 328-5465 to arrange for communion by phone (for those without internet access).  If you know of someone who may need to participate in this way, please let us know.
Whichever communion experience you choose, you will need to prepare the communion elements ahead of time. Here is what you will need:
  • bread -- some form of bread or cracker;
  • juice or wine, preferably red; if you have neither of these then any suitable liquid;
  • a cup, wine glass, or chalice.
For all who choose to participate via Zoom, you will be muted automatically at the start and during the communion ceremony.  Once the service has ended we will invite those who wish to stay on and greet one another to do so.  We will use the same Zoom link for all three worship times join us at your preferred time.  Here is the link:

Movie Night on Zoom

Friday, July 17 at 7pm, Just Mercy (PG-13)

We invite you to view the 2019 movie Just Mercy in advance of our meeting.  Just Mercy, a powerful film based on a true story, tells of a racially-biased injustice to a man of color who is wrongly convicted of murder and condemned to death and of his lawyer’s efforts to exonerate him.  At our gathering, this movie will provide us with the opportunity to begin discussions of a topic that is important generally and particularly timely right now.

The film is currently streaming on Amazon, YouTube and Google Movies (and possibly other streaming sources) or you could obtain the disc from Netflix or Redbox machines at many grocery or other retailers.  Some streaming sources are making it available for free for a limited time.  Also, we will have a limited number of copies available to view from your home. If you want to join us, please email Allie (or call 707-890-8010) because we will be sending out some additional information prior to our Zoom gathering.  Contact Allie Shoulders also if you want to borrow one of the copies of the disc. We do not have the capability to show movies on Zoom at this point.
