New “Bells” in Our Bell Tower

May the sound of our church bells be “a daily witness to the sovereignty of God in the world” and a reminder that our worship of God serves as “the spiritual heartbeat not only of the church, but of our community, and nation.”
--Inspired by N.T. Wright’s book on worship, For All God’s Worth.

A new carillon (an electronic version of bells) will once again play music from our bell tower to announce the time and remind hearers of our church’s presence in the community as a place of living faith engaged in worship and mission.  It’s been nearly two decades since our previous carillon was operational. Session voted to use some of the dedicated bequest funds to have a new one installed which was completed this week.  The carillon will be scheduled to play several times each day by striking a bell to mark the time, followed by an inspirational, short musical selection offering hope, encouragement, and peace.

An Invitation to All Dads

A week from Sunday, June 21, is Father’s Day.  I (Dale) would like to issue an invitation to all the fathers in our church family to make that day be about something we give instead of just receive.  I invite us to put into words and convey to our children what it means to us to be their father.  Most men I know carry strong feelings for their children that are seldom expressed.  What better time to tell them how we feel about them and what they mean to us than on the day Hallmark tells them to honor us.
