Applying collective impact principles as we work together

The aim of the workshop is to support the delivery of the future health and wellbeing plan as participants develop their understanding of the collective impact approach and  how we can apply it in our work as separate but aligned organisations working to improve the health and wellbeing of our community.

The workshop is being presented by Sharon Fraser who was the General Manager of Go Goldfields from 2011 -2017 where she led the design and development of a collective impact, place-based approach of social change to improve outcomes for youth, children and families. Sharon also presented our June PRG Workshop on Systems Thinking.
The Collective Impact workshop will include:

• Introduction to the Collective Impact Approach
• How the Collective Impact Approach complements Systems Thinking
• Examples of collective impact approaches from Bendigo and further afield
• Group activity on how to implement a Collective Impact approach

 

On 1 July 2021, 25 people came together for the first Research and Evaluation Community of Practice.
It's a great approach to meeting other locals interested in evaluation, tapping into the expertise in our community, and learning from each other.

The July round of The City of Greater Bendigo's Medium Community Grants Program is now open! Community groups, schools, early learning centres and businesses can apply for up to $10,000 in funding for local community-focused projects.

The City of Greater Bendigo have released their draft Reducing Harm from Gambling Policy for public comment. The draft policy aims to ensure our community does not experience negative social and economic impacts from gambling.

Logic models are often helpful for planning purposes as well as evaluation. It is often described as a picture of why and how you believe e.g. a program or project will work.
Logical models may be useful for your work!
Here are some resources to help you understand how you might be able to use them!
 

• Logic Model Development Guide from the W.K. Kellogg Foundation. Can also request a free CD. This guide has a whole section on sample logic models.

• Enhancing Program Performance with Logic Models. This is an online module developed by University of Wisconsin Extension, Program Development and Evaluation. 

• Drawing software: Logic models can be drawn using any type of drawing software such as Microsoft’s Visio. For $13 to $15.50 per month, it can be added to your Microsoft 365 subscription.
