Looking for ways to stay warm this winter?

Healthy Greater Bendigo are here to provide you with tips, tricks and top destinations to keep you active this winter season!
Kangaroo Flat station to your destination!

A new “wayfinding map sign” with a strong focus on recreational and leisure facilities has been installed at the Kangaroo Flat Train Station to promote active travel and help pedestrians and visitors arriving by coach or train to navigate their way around Kangaroo Flat.

The sign will help to promote and activate key routes between the Kangaroo Flat township and the station and reduce the demand for car parking at the station. This is one way that Healthy Greater Bendigo are encouraging people to be more active more often, allowing for a healthier town and healthier visitors.

International research shows that walkable cities promote not only the communities health, but the economy as well. Having this sign in place makes the area more walkable for visitors and community members alike.

The new sign has been funded by the Healthy Heart of Victoria initiative and is a partnership with Healthy Greater Bendigo and the City of Greater Bendigo.

Ewing Park; a light in the dark

Ewing Park Community Lighting Trial

The City of Greater Bendigo and United Cricket Club are turning on the lights from May to September from 6pm-8pm each night as part of a lighting trial project, so you can be active at a time that suits your lifestyle!

The Active Living Census findings said that more than half of all adults want to be more active. This project aims to reduce barriers to participation in physical activity by keeping the lights on in the evening. Does this help you stay active through winter?
