Winemaker's Note
It's always about the weather...
Shaw Vineyard fared well over the long cold winter of 2017-2018. We had minimal winter damage in our estate Vineyard. Although this April was one of the coldest on record, we made up for that during a warm, dry May. The vines appear to be in excellent shape as we move into the July and August heat.
We have continued to expand our vineyard holdings to additional sites, planting Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon at our Hector vineyard. This is an incredibly challenging site to cultivate with steep slopes and large stones, reminiscent of terrior in many European regions.
These new vines will bear fruit in four years alongside the previously planted Pinot Noir and Sauvignon Blanc. This is truly an exciting, unique Vineyard project pushing the envelope in sustainable Finger Lakes viticulture.
We are excited to announce the coming release of five new vintages of our trademark lees contact whites and barrel aged red wines:

2017 Sauvignon Blanc
LiBella Pinot Grigio NV blend
2013 Cabernet Franc
2011 Cabernet Sauvignon
2012 Pinot Noir
Our aged reds and whites continue to gain
a following among Finger Lakes wine enthusiasts. See you in the tasting room!
