Your Park Bristol and Bath are inviting applications from park groups and other community groups wanting to run projects or events in Bristol's parks and green spaces.
The scheme is part of the charity's mission to make our parks better places to meet, play, learn, grow, breathe and enjoy nature.
Groups from across Bristol and Bath are able to apply for a small grant between £500 and £1000.
The Fund is aimed at smaller groups in our cities – including new informal groups as well as more established ones and those connecting with harder to reach groups within our communities.
The aim is to help those who want to bring an idea to life to connect their community with a local park and make it a better place for everyone. Volunteers are at the heart of local groups wanting to make a difference to their park, the Love Your Park Community Fund is a way of boosting their efforts to do more locally.
In particular the fund will encourage applications related to
Supporting community recovery from the pandemic by providing opportunities for local people to come together around shared activities.
Encouraging the use of parks & green spaces by people or groups who don’t regularly use green spaces and benefit from them
Improving parks for nature by enhancing habitats
Supporting community health and wellbeing by providing opportunities for people to access nature and be active close to home.
It could be a new project that will benefit the wellbeing of a group of local people, encourage volunteering or help improve a park for people and nature. Or it might be an existing project or activity that needs a small injection of funds to be able to make a real difference to a community.
The Love Your Park Community Fund is an ongoing appeal to raise money to help grassroots groups to do more in their parks for the benefit of both people and nature.
Applications will be open from midday on Monday 26th July to Sunday 5th September at 8pm.
Your Park Bristol & Bath wants to make the application process as easy as possible. Judy, the Your Park Grants Officer will be on hand to help you with the application, please contact her on 07711 049196 or email@example.com if you are thinking of making an application or want more details.
Next meeting Sat 16th October – we will decide nearer the time whether this can be a face to face meeting or whether it will be on zoom.
