Bristol Parks Forum Update

Forward this email to a friend
Sorry, I got the launch date for the Love Your Park Grant Fund wrong in this morning's email update, it will be Monday 26th JULY, I've corrected it in the version below.

In this update:

Parks Forum Waste Survey Summer 2021

Thank you if your group has submitted a response to our survey. A reminder that the closing date is the end of Sunday (18th July)
The survey is on Survey Monkey here -
There was also a very interesting discussion about litter at the Downs Committee meeting this week, the meeting can be seen on YouTube.

Love Your Park Small Grants

The small grants fund being run by Your Park Bristol & Bath will launch on Monday 26th July during Love Parks Week. Thank you again to everyone who donated to this fund during the recent Big Give appeal.
The charity is determined to make this as easy as possible for groups to apply and will be also be happy to receive applications from new groups, even if they don’t yet have a bank account.
There will be a simple application form and lots of help available in making the application.
Your Park Bristol & Bath have employed a Grant Officer, Judy, to administer the scheme. Judy will not be part of the decision making panel but will be available by email or phone to help you put your application together.
There will be a webinar for potential applicants on the launch day 5-6pm on zoom.
Look out for more information in these emails and on social media nearer the date.

Free Training

 – involving young people in green space volunteering.
The Future Proof Parks project is offering free training to Friends of Parks Groups and organisations to help you work with young people – building the next generation of green space volunteers and handing-on the care of our much-loved community parks to future leaders. Led by specialists, the online training will look at the principles and practicalities of young people’s participation in green space volunteering.
Ensuring volunteers represent the whole community is vital to long term success. If you are a Friends of Parks Group member or part of a community organisation who want to include young people, this would be the ideal first step on your journey.
As well as the Youth Participation sessions, Friends Group can request Safeguarding training which can be delivered to your group on an ad hoc basis.
Sessions are on zoom on 24th August and 9th September, booking information is here or contact Laura Keegan on for more information.
