Bristol Parks Forum Update
In this update:
Festival of Nature Foundation Launch
As I mentioned at the meeting on Saturday the Bristol and Bath Parks Foundation will be launching at the Festival of Nature on Sat 1st June in Bath and the weekend of the 8th / 9th June in Bristol - www.bnhc.org.uk/festival-of-nature/bristol-festival-nature-2/
The Foundation will be in Queens Square for the Bristol event which is being included as part of the Festival site for the first time this year.
The new website will go live next week ahead of the launch and I will send you more details then. In the meantime you can read more in the latest Briefing Note which is on our website at www.bristolparksforum.org.uk/foundation/
There will be an opportunity to display some information about the Parks Forum and individual park groups within the Foundation tent and as in previous years it would be great to have some volunteers to help. The Festival is open this year each day from 10am to 6pm so that is four 2hr slots on each day. If you are able to help, please let me know.
Volunteers’ Week 1st-7th June, Free Events
Several Bristol-based organisations (including Bristol Parks) have teamed together for Volunteers’ Week 2019 in order to thank all of their amazing volunteers and celebrate the fantastic support that they provide.
Each organisation has agreed to offer the volunteers of the other organisations taking part access to some behind-the-scenes events and tours.
Details can be found at www.bristolparksforum.org.uk/VolunteersWeek2019.pdf
Organisations involved include: Bristol Ferry Boats, Bristol Music Trust, Brunel’s SS Great Britain, Clifton Suspension Bridge Trust and the Royal Photographic Society.
Some of the offers require you to prove that you are a volunteer, where this is the case please email our new volunteer co-ordinator, Ella at Ella.Hogg@bristol.gov.uk telling her which park group you volunteer for. Ella will then send you an email confirming that you volunteer for Bristol Parks.

The consultation on this finishes today (Friday 24th May).
Following the meeting on Saturday the BPF Committee have agreed a response, see www.bristolparksforum.org.uk/BPFlocalplanresponse.pdf
