What's been happening over the last three months? News, information, photos, a special offer to attend Executive Secretary LIVE London in 2017 and 2 guest contributors: Andy Cosslett, Business Executive and Chairman, shares valuable advice for new CEOs (and, of course, their PAs) and Jane Luca, my former colleague at Granada and now Chair of Women of the Year, outlines the importance of this event.

Welcome to the December newsletter.  It's that time of year when we reflect on the months gone. It's been a strange time with some national, international and personal sadness, so it's important to focus on the positives.  It is particularly wonderful to see the rise in the profile of the PA role. When I started coaching and training PAs coming up to 17 years ago, I wanted to help them understand their role, execute that role with excellent standards and build their confidence. Over the years, this expanded to raising the profile of the PA and, today, since the foundation of Lucy Brazier's Executive Secretary Magazine and their LIVE events and Victoria Darragh's Executive and Personal Assistants Association, even newer heights are being reached. Local, national and international networks are being set up and, within organisations, people are creating internal groups to support the Office Professionals. Companies are starting the take the profession seriously. Onwards and upwards together everyone!

On that note, congratulations to EUMA on the new name and brand scheduled for February 2017. It will then be known as International Management Assistants (IMA).  Find out more.

Since the last newsletter I have facilitated sessions in Swindon, Liverpool, Manchester, Edinburgh, Barrow-in-Furness, Canberra, Melbourne, Sydney, Dubai, Guernsey, Leeds, Canterbury, Durham and London (including presenting at the PA Life Training Day).  I have facilitated sessions on business writing, minute taking, BakerWrite speedwriting, communications and various levels of PA, EA and administrative workshops.  I have also presented webinars for Business Management Daily.

2017 is approaching and my diary is full of new and exciting events (see the right hand column for a small selection of these)... I'm also booked to return to many existing clients in the UK and overseas.

Contact me regarding open courses or if you are interested in an in-house session for your organisation, wherever you are in the world.

As a Prince's Trust Business Mentor, I was delighted to be invited to the North West Celebrate Success Event. It was fantastic to hear of the great things achieved by young people who have not had an easy start in life. You can now buy products from The Prince's Trust businesses; some great Christmas gift ideas.

I'm also proud to be collaborating with Isipho Admin, the wonderful charity set up in South Africa to train PAs. You can find out more and help here.

I had such a good time with these lovely minute takers in Durham.
