Just one week to go until Australian Food Safety Week
6 to 12 November 2016

Thanks to our major sponsors Elanco Animal Health (Australia), Catercare and MediaHeads Australian Food Safety Week will be able to go ahead this year. The theme for the 20th Australian Food Safety Week, to be held from 6 to 12 November 2016, is ‘Raw and risky’ foods.

Material for your event

Thanks to everyone who has ordered our posters, brochures and fridge thermometers - we've mailed out about 4,000 posters, 16,000 brochures and over 500 fridge thermometers to events to be held around the country. The mail out of material to reach you in time for Food Safety Week has now closed but let us know if you would still like boxes of posters/brochures for the cost of postage or fridge thermometers for $3.30 each + postage to use for other events.

Register your event

Each year many events are held around Australia during Food Safety Week. Encourage your friends and colleagues to catch up with what is happening during Australian Food Safety Week 2016 by following us on twitter using the hashtag #FoodSafetyWeek, liking us on Facebook or subscribing to our mailing list.

There are a lot of things you can do in your area:

  • let people know about Food Safety Week in your newsletter and social media
  • hold a display in your local shopping centre, workplace, school or library
  • contact your local media to talk about food safety
  • run a food safety tips seminar
  • have a BBQ
  • set up a morning tea at work
  • take our Raw and risky food quiz (online and hard copies)

Use this example media release to publicise your event if it is public.
