Pictured above is a new tendril from our very young cantaloupe plant. It seems to be sipping water from the taro root's leaf (also a young plant). This made me think about what each of us are doing during these times of uncertainty. Some days we'll feel like the tendril, other days the leaf holding water... correct?

This sweet pair is a reminder from nature. We all have something to offer whether we hold each other up from a distance or  we are sheltering in place and providing care and encouragement for those near. Often, just being present is the best type of support.

This is as good a time as any to reflect on who we are and what we can offer in such an adverse climate. 

How are you/we going to rise to the challenge of adapting, while keeping balance and mental well-being at the forefront? If you're already in this process, then congratulations and keep going forward. If you're feeling stuck, you're not alone. as your community wellness studio our purpose is to create a space for health and wellness on all levels and we will continue to hold space.

We know it's not the same as gathering for yoga and sharing tea in person, but still we are here for online sessions and available by email or phone.

Medicine in your Kitchen : A Cooling  Drink
Cooling Buttermilk Drink 

Mix 4 - 6 oz of Buttermilk with a little bit of cool or room temperature water
(mix water if buttermilk is thick or sour).

Then, add the following : 
a pinch of cumin powder
pinch of Himalayan pink salt
finely chopped cilantro 
finely chopped mint 
(Optional to add Coriander powder or grated ginger)
blend by hand or with a smoothie or immersion blender 
Enjoy this before or after your lunch!

It's wonderful for those of us who run warm or hot.  This nutritious buttermilk drink is an Ayurvedic tonic as it supports healthy digestion and keeps the body cool!
