Lessons from the sunflowers...

Last week as I looked out into the yard I was plesantly surprised to see a sunflower growing out of a pot, cozily resting in one of our garden beds. We had not planted anything in the beds this summer, so this was quite a treat. I did remember planting some seeds a while ago, could this be the flower?

How wonderful that this whole time, a foundation was being set for the sunflower to bloom! My partner Vikram mentioned a few days later that he almost pulled it out, thinking also that it was a weed.

I took this as a gentle reminder for a few life lessons, when away from the garden :
  • Not everything arrives as we may expect, stay open to it's many forms
  • If ever there is a feeling of "not enough time", remember that nature doesn't rush and yet has perfect timing for exactly what is meant to be
  • If we find ourselves in an unexpected situation or circumstance, before jumping to a conclusion consider what else this could be
  • The intentions we put out there for flowers, love, relationships, career.. they are well on their way to us, again, timing is fluid and the notion of time constraints can be happily discarded (immediately).

Passport to Inner Peace | Soothe

This past Sunday, Winnie kicked off our Passport to Inner Peace series with her workshop SOOTHE.  She filled the Bodhi Studio with soothing sounds of the Tibetan Singing Bowls, balanced chakras and ended with a gong bath for all the participants. For those who attended we hope you enjoyed yourselves. If you missed out, not to worry, Winnie will be singing the bowls at Mind Body Yoga soon.

Next Destination : Discover Qi with Vikram Doddi, read more below.

Participants said:
"The gong was something I had never experienced before. I felt it energize and elevate my energies. It was brilliant."

"The gong took me back to another time, from my dancing days... "
Passport to Inner Peace | 2 of 6 : Discover Qi

Discover Qi with Vikram Doddi
Sunday June 30th 4 - 5:30pm

Discover Qi offers an introduction and appreciation to the practice of Ip Sun, a Korean practice similar to Tai Chi. The session will begin with a slow and gentle warm up. You will then transition into synchronized breath and moving meditation practice. The session will include some seated meditation and breath work. If time and space permits, we will learn to feel our own Qi.

The intention here is for participants to experience meditative state through movement, stillness and breathing. No prior experience required.
