The Art of Relaxation w/Ann McMinn
Nov 17th from 3 - 4:30 pm
Relaxation is an ongoing practice and in order to stay current, you have to continue your being/doing in regular, daily life, stressful situations and most importantly, be able to summon your "relaxed self" at a moment's notice.

These workshops have been given their title because there truly is an art to relaxing. It is rooted in the practice of yoga. Learn new techniques to release muscle tension, free up the joints, calm and balance the mind with breathing and meditation.

Whether you are new or familiar, there is so much to gain from this yoga + deep guided meditation practice.

No experience necessary! Dress comfortably, cozy socks,  may be your favorite sweatshirt? And to be honest, some comfy jammies wouldn't hurt. We're serious about our relaxation here at Studio Kailash.

SEVA (Service) in the community

Winnie Alexander plays  the Gong after her yoga session (Oct 2019). Seniors at Vista Ridge soak in these soothing vibrations and move into deep relaxation, taking a break from their busy Senior Summit day.

Winnie has been volunteering at Vista Ridge High School since 2006, sharing yoga as a tool for de-stressing as seniors move through their final year of hs. During their Fall Senior Summit, they have help sessions, workshops, all kinds of things - college related / planning / financial aid. This year Winnie invited me to teach a class with her. What an honor! She transformed the gym into a warm, studio with her sheepskin rug, plants, many aromatherapy diffusers & lighting. The students were present, appreciative, and curious. I'm certain that every student each walked away with something useful and accessible for themselves. A posture, a breathing exercise, and/or the meaning of setting an intention.

It doesn't take much to imagine the pressure & stress that high school students carry these days. What a gift to receive a practice that embodies self-care, love and a moment of peace. These tools go a long way.

Thank you Winnie, for sharing what you love and for giving Studio Kailash a chance to share this with you.
