The Children's Health Fund (CHF) was set up by Jamie Oliver and Sustain in August 2015. The aim is to get restaurants and cafes to volunteer to put a 10p sugary drinks levy on non-alcoholic soft drinks on their menu with added sugar. This money will be paid into the CHF, administered by Sustain. It will be overseen by an independent board, made up of experts on children’s health and food education. The board will oversee the allocation of grants to programmes and schemes aimed at improving children’s health and food education.  Applications will be open from Autumn 2015 via this website, with funding to be distributed from 2016. Please register your interest on the website by signing up to the newsletter to get updates regarding the funds opening.

NHS England is seeking to award a single grant to enhance ‘formal’ youth volunteering opportunities in health and care and widen inclusion. The grant aims to facilitate:
•    the development and delivery of learning opportunities for volunteer service managers on youth volunteering and the development of peer to peer learning/networks;
•    learning from, providing support to, and showcasing models of youth volunteering that support wider inclusion. There is particular interest in models that facilitate the involvement of young people from marginalised groups or who may experience health, social or economic inequalities. A single grant is available for up to £35,000.
The successful grant applicant will need to demonstrate how they will deliver this initiative and provide information on their relevant knowledge, skills and experience. Applications will be assessed by a written application form and a possible WebEx discussion.
