Free Fundraising Regulations Event on the 8th March at LCVS for the Liverpool City Region

Is your organisation up-to-speed with the recent changes to fundraising regulations? Are you aware of the new Code of Fundraising Practice that is expected to come into operation by the end of the year? If the answer is “no” and you fundraise from the public then this event is a must for you. The Fundraising Regulator will be in Liverpool to discuss the proposed changes to be made to the Code of Fundraising Practice as set out in its current consultation. A range of topics will be covered in the presentation and Q&A session, including the role of the regulator, the code of practice and the new fundraising preference service.

Government produces guidance to help public sector commissioners embed volunteering and social action in public services.

From November 2015 to August 2016 government collaborated with the New Economics Foundation to develop resources for commissioners and other public sector leaders to help them embed social action in commissioning. Social action is about people coming together to help improve their lives and solve important problems in their communities. When the public sector works with communities – listening to citizens, growing their capacity to act, and working with them as equals – social action can become a powerful way of meeting people’s needs.

Introducing the Wirral Advocacy Hub

From the 1st February 2017, n-compass Advocacy Service will be responsible for the delivery of The Wirral Advocacy Hub. The Hub will provide General Advocacy, Independent Mental Health Advocacy (including DoLs and RPR) , Independent Mental Capacity Advocacy , Care Act Advocacy and a Single Point of Contact. The Single Point of Contact has been designed to respond and deal with all Wirral Advocacy enquires regardless of which type of advocacy the query is in relation to. Please don’t hesitate to contact the Hub should you need any guidance to be sure if Advocacy applies to yourself or someone you support. We have duty advocates available during office hours to talk through and guide your advocacy query aiming to support professionals to uphold their duty to refer into statutory advocacy and provide easy access for customers.
