Truckee Meadows Parks Foundation has some wonderful volunteer opportunities coming up! With spring around the corner, we're ready to kick off our Student Stewards Program! If you're interested in working with students and teaching them citizen science, this could be the right experience for you.
If you don't have time during the week to work with students, we are also looking for volunteers to help lead The Junior Naturalist Program, which is held on the second Saturday of each month. For more information on either of these programs, please contact Belen Figueroa at belen@tmparksfoundation.org or call at 775-453-0713

Dog Waste Awareness
Check out our latest fiscal sponsorship project with Keep Truckee Meadows Beautiful! The Dog Waste Awareness project aims to raise awareness about the effects of dog waste and hopes to fight the issue by distributing dog waste bag dispensers, refills, and educational materials throughout the community!
Since the recession, parks departments in the Reno/Sparks area have sustained massive cuts to budget, personnel, and maintenance. This has resulted in the general deterioration of our parks and recreation facilities. TMPF believes it is imperative that we emphasize quality of life in Truckee Meadows by investing in these vital public resources.
Our city and county representatives are currently deliberating the 2016-17 budget, and it is time to remind them how important parks are to our economy, health, and overall quality of life.
