Happy 4th of July!

TMPF hopes you have a very happy and safe weekend while celebrating our great nation. The weather will be great, so why not celebrate in one of your favorite local parks?
Give your opinion on "On-Premises Digital Signs"

Help the City of Reno by taking a quick survey about the use of digital signs in our area. Should businesses be allowed to use them or not? Survey ends at 5pm on Thursday.

Peavine Trail Safety

Check out this local Facebook page devoted to safe recreation on Peavine Mountain. They have a lot of information about the current state of trails, as well as plenty of great stuff about how you can get involved and make Peavine a safer place for all.

Park Highlight

Rock Park, initially opened in 1978 with the help of a land/water conservation grant funding, this 37 year old park has gone through some changes over the years. Most recently, in the winter of 2008/2009 the City of Sparks temporarily closed down this riverside park for some much needed renovations and the installation of the new Whitewater Park. This includes pools for kayaking, tubing and rafting for all abilities.

Science Corner

A newly discovered species, Regaliceratops peterhewsi, a close relative to the Triceratops, likely used to roam northern Nevada. Guess we'll have to add a new dinosaur to the playground at Rancho San Rafael.

Volunteers Needed!

-Rephotography Site Stewards. It's summer and a great time to sign up to be a Rephotography Site Steward. It's only a four-hour commitment per year, and you will  help us to document change in our community over time.

-Photographer. TMPF is seeking an experienced photographer to join us during our in-park programming. If you have experience and would like to help document our guided walks, hikes and Student Stewards Program, let us know!

-Student Stewards Volunteers. Starting the second week of August, our Student Stewards Program will be gearing up again. TMPF will be visiting a lot of schools and a lot of parks with local school kids, and we need volunteers to help us perform bird counts, insect surveys, and more.

Please contact augustine@tmparksfoundation.org for more information.
Thanks to:
