Colloquiums: MOBI in New Delhi

MOBI is hosting its first India based colloquium this Wednesday, May 23, 2019 in New Delhi! The event will be part of a three-day Smart Cities Expo in India held at the same time. Smart mobility is an integral piece of the smart cities puzzle and India’s local government is beginning to invest in major infrastructure programs to modernize select cities across the country.

Speakers from the MOBI Community to include:

As an attendee, you will have the opportunity to network with around 200 participants in this exclusive event focused on blockchain in mobility while also reaching out to a broader audience of thousands of people in the related industries. For speaking, hosting a booth, or sponsoring the event please get in touch with our Programs Manager, Annabelle Sbarbatti.

  • Tokenized carbon credits
  • Vehicle-to-grid (V2G) energy storage and ancillary services, and more.

The Month in Events

With deployment of large satellite constellations and significant advancement in Milan, the value of Earth Observation (EO) data and analytics for mobility and transport system is dramatically increasing. MOBI's EMEA lead, Arwen Smit spoke on this month's debuting panel "Blockchain in Earth Observation" at European Space Agency's Living Planet Symposium. Fellow panelists from ESA Future Technologies Department, The World Bank, Guardtime, Cloudeo, Spherity and European Commission (G Connect) discussed the impact of blockchain on the EO sector and use cases surrounding mobility tracking and system optimization.

The panel, its first in ESA's tri-annual community symposiums, was co-moderated by MOBI member Spherity's Carsten Stoeker and ESA's Science, Applications and Climate Department, Directorate of Earth Observation Programmes, Anna Burzykowska. "I personally see that “Earth Observation (EO) services will soon be seamlessly blended into transportation systems for all kind of optimization and tracking purposes. This require a decentralized trust framework to make the entire system reliable.” Mr. Stoecker expressed. We concur!
Concurrently, Ashley Lannquist, MOBI Co-Founder and Project Lead at the World Economic Forum, attended this year's Consensus 2019 to discuss how blockchain may be a solution to major inefficiencies in modern economic systems. Check out some more highlights from this three-day event!
