My warmest wishes for a happy and creative new year.
My deepest apologies for the long absence. Sorry! I needed the rest, as I believe, did you.
I hope you have recharged your batteries for the long and restless months till the exams.
I trust we are all tuned towards some kind of language examination. My advice! Stay focused, not obsessed.
I’ve come up with some nice stuff, which I can’t wait to share with you. Video: the one and only Andrew Zimmern travels the globe and presents delicious dishes. Good for listening comprehension and lots of fun, too! Craft: what with all this the snow we’ve seen since the beginning of the year, kids might want to make their own paper snowflakes. Although strictly speaking a Christmas craft, it could work any time. Drawing: your little artists might enjoy a bit of fun now and again. Why not play them this video and teach them how to draw a lion? Grammar: practise adjective comparisons with this exciting game for your laptop or interactive board. Websites: Have you got your own site? Can you afford not to? Can you deny yourself the web presence which is absolutely essential these days? Imagine all the things you can do with your own site: advertise, entertain, educate, communicate, inform. Would you like to have one created to your own specifications? Reasonably-priced, no host charges, easy to maintain and update. Contact me. And for state-of-the-art software:
A. Active Vocabulary is a thorny issue. It doesn’t have to be boring though! Our Lexisflex series provides great practice activities, and such a variety of task types that kids will never be bored doing them, as they won’t know what’s just around the corner. (You will, though, since the Syllabus is there for you to download through my site - download the levels you prefer, print them and incorporate them in your teaching. 5 minutes a week is as little as you can devote to the development of lexical competence.
B. The frenzy of exam preparation has not started yet, but there’s no reason for you to be caught unprepared. Browse through our FCE, ECCE, CPE, ECPE1, ECPE2 and ESB CD-ROMs and you will certainly find something that fits your teaching context. Priced between €25 and €30 per title, they are also available in a particularly attractive package with a price tag of €90 (instead of €160) for all 6 of them.
Educate, entertain, enjoy, innovate, share and never, ever, cease being awesome.
