Individual Lab Work: Collecting Data

George Mason school logoIn IB courses, students seek answers to their questions. In HL Chemistry this requires students to form the problem and set out to get answers through a well-designed experiment. After researching possible methodology and best practices, supplies are ordered for all the individual labs and students set to work. Students are in the final days of data collection. Their inquiries include the accuracy of package labeling of the acid levels in vinegar and the potency of commercially available antacids on hydrochloric acid.

Preparing for Districts with the help of Clinicians

George Mason school logoThe 65 member GMHS Wind Ensemble has been rehearsing in preparation for district assessments which will be held the first weekend in March. The music they will perform is from the most challenging difficulty level. Guest clinicians have been working with small groups on their parts. The percussion group above is celebrating free drumsticks, and other percussion "treats" after a successful sectional. Most of the percussion "family" have been making music together for all four years of high school. The Wind Ensemble will perform at West Potomac High School on March 1st or 2nd.
