What Is HOT?
HOT is the Humanitarian OpenStreetMap Team: Applying the Principles of Open Source and Open Data for Economic Development and Emergency Relief.
As a non-profit organization, HOT is global online community of volunteer digital humanitarians.

MyGEOSS Call
The call for development of innovative applications (mobile or web-based) using openly available or crowd-generated data in different domains addressing citizens’ needs has been announced. The focus will be on developing applications of European relevance that will provide users with quantitative or qualitative information on the changing environment.

Awards will be made up to € 13.500 to develop the applications further. Deadline 8 April 2016. More information

Explore The World: Indoors
Soleway aims to create a community to solve the problem of indoor navigation with state-of-the-art technologies. They plan to put the world on an indoor map. To achieve that goal, they need your help. Explore the SoleWay website, see the existing routes, and enter your own routes in order to help others to find their way around! Responsible Research Toolkit
The Responsible Research Initiative (RRI) has been launched. As a cross-cutting issue of Horizon 2020, RRI is being promoted by the European Commission (EC) to foster and facilitate research and innovation in an inclusive, societally-oriented way. More than 350 resources are available in the toolkit to allow closer interactions between research and innovation systems. It addresses topics like open access, gender in science, ethics, science education, governance, public engagement. More information

GI Learner
EUROGEO starts a new Erasmus+ KA2 project on the use of GIS, called GI Learner. GI Learner aims to develop learning lines for the use of GIScience in Secondary School education. It follows work from previous projects like iGuess and digital-earth. The project is undertaking a literature review on learning lines and spatial thinking available on the Web site. The project will be running workshops at GI_Forum in Salzburg in July.. More information - Twitter

YouthMetre is a new project coordinated by EUROGEO, seeking to bring young people closer to policy making about Youth across Europe. The aim is to create tools that will empower youth to engage with policy makers and challenge policy developments. More information.
