Sound impacts: April 26-30 filtration facility drilling activity updated
Estimated locations and dates for drilling activity is available for the week of April 26, 2021 at portland.gov/filtration_activity.

To prepare for design of the new filtration facility and pipelines, workers will be drilling in the area to gather information about soil conditions, through May. Drilling for the pipeline was completed April 16 and drilling at the facility site is expected to be completed by May 29.

There will be significant noise during the drilling, typically ranging from 70 to 80 dBA (similar to the sound of a medium-sized tractor).

The field work will be limited to 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday to Friday, and the drilling is anticipated to take a few days at each location.

Bull Run Filtration Site Advisory Group Update
We’d like your feedback on draft language we’re considering for the Good Neighbor Agreement. The agreement will document the Water Bureau’s commitments to filtration facility neighbors and is intended to reflect community preferences and feedback on communications, design, stormwater management, and safety.
