Senator Jeff Merkley, EPA Invites Portland Water Bureau to Apply for Up to $554 Million in Water Project Financing for Bull Run Filtration and Other Projects


On Oct. 22, US Senator Jeff Merkley announced that the Portland Water Bureau was invited to apply for up to $554 million in low-interest financing for drinking water infrastructure projects, including for the Bull Run Filtration Project. When selected for this important program, it will help us expand funding resources to maximize our financial investment while building a more resilient economy and keeping clean water flowing to almost a million Oregonians.

Shake It! Shake It! This is How We Drop, Cover, and Hold


Every day we work to prepare our water system for a disaster like an earthquake. On Thursday, Oct. 17, we also prepared our workforce. We joined thousands of other Oregonians for the Great Oregon ShakeOut to practice how to drop, cover, and hold on in the event of an earthquake. Are you prepared for an emergency or natural disaster? Learn: OPB Highlights What We’re Doing to Reduce Lead


We're building an improved corrosion control treatment facility to protect our customers from exposure to lead found in household plumbing. The new treatment plant will be in place by April 2022. “We put a lot of work and effort into educating our customers on lead in water and reducing exposure to lead,” said Scott Bradway, a member of our water quality team. “We should see those lead levels come down even further from where they are now.”
