Abstract Submission Numbers Exceed Expectations!

A note from the ARSC2015 Conference Organising Committee:

Thank you for the wonderful response to our Call for Abstracts! 

We received over 280 abstract submissions which has exceeded all expectations (and is keeping us busy!).  This response is an indication of the enthusiasm and dedication of all those working to expedite road trauma reductions.

We look forward to your participation as supporters and attendees at the largest dedicated road safety conference in our region.

Dr Barry Watson
CEO
Global Road Safety Partnership Program

Dr Barry Watson is the Chief Executive Officer of the Global Road Safety Partnership (GRSP), which is hosted by the Federation of the Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies in Geneva, Switzerland. As the CEO of GRSP, Barry is responsible for the overall strategic direction of the organisation as well as the management of its activities in over 35 countries worldwide. Barry has worked in the road safety field for over 30 years in government and civil society organisations.

Barry is a Fellow of the Australasian College of Road Safety (ACRS) and a member-at-large on the Executive Board of the International Council of Alcohol, Drugs & Traffic Safety (ICADTS), and was most recently the Director of Queensland's Centre for Accident Research and Road Safety (CARRS-Q).  Read more.....

Mr Gavin Smith
CEO
Robert Bosch Australia

Gavin Smith joined Bosch Australia in 1990 following 10 years in various Information Technology roles at a number of well known Multinationals across Australasia.  In 2011 Gavin was promoted to the position of President and Chairman of the Local subsidiary Robert Bosch Australia.

Robert Bosch Australia is a regional subsidiary and part of the global Bosch Group, a leading global supplier of technology and services. In fiscal 2013 the Bosch Group employed 310,000 associates worldwide, and generated revenues of 48bio euros from Sales of Automotive and Industrial Technology, Consumer Goods and Energy and Building Technologies.  Bosch established its Australian activities in 1907, today employing more than 1300 people and generating revenues in excess of $600million Australian Dollars.   Read more.....

A/Prof Brian Owler
President
Australian Medical Association

Associate Professor Brian K Owler is an Australian trained neurosurgeon.  He is a Consultant Neurosurgeon at the Children's Hospital at Westmead, Westmead Private, Sydney Adventist Hospital at Wahroonga and Norwest Private Hospital.  A/Prof Owler has a PhD from the University of Sydney and is Associate Professor of Neurosurgery at the University of Sydney.

A/Prof Owler was elected President of the Australian Medical Association in May 2014.  He has a particular interest in public health advocacy. He has worked with the NSW Roads and Maritime Service to develop the “Don’t Rush” advertising campaign targeted at reducing speed-related road accidents in NSW.  He also has a strong commitment to improving the health of Indigenous Australians.
