Happy Summer Seattle!

We have so much to tell you! The Freeway Park Association and our partners have been very busy working to enliven and improve our favorite Park. Read on and drop us a note to let us know how we're doing at FreewayParkAssociation.org.

The Park is looking gorgeous with new understory plantings, lush summer foliage and Rhododendrons bursting with color! So let's celebrate this unique arboretum in the middle of the city and the launch our event season with Freeway Park in Bloom! The Seattle Tree Ambassadors will lead a Tree Tour beginning at 11:30, our friends at Tilth Alliance will be on hand with some gardening fun and education and Hazel Landscapes and Edibles will be spreading the love of flora with posey boutonnieres! Also:
  • Live Bluegrass from The Neighborhood Boys
  • Free face painting and other activities for kids
  • Sausages and Ice Cream from Dirty Dog (first 50 dogs are free!)
  • Be a designer for the Finding Freeway Park Project and help envision the future of this important Park!
Finding Freeway Park:
A Community Design Process
Why is Freeway Park Seattle's best kept secret?

The Freeway Park Association is undergoing a community engagement and schematic design process to envision and create improvements to connectivity, visibility and public safety at Freeway Park.

With grant funding from the City of Seattle, we have hired SiteWorkshop Landscape Architects to lead this process and develop conceptual design recommendations for future use by the City and the Association. We envision this community design and planning process as the first step to improving access to this hidden gem and to better support the needs of the community within the changing landscape of our City.

Help FPA and SiteWorkshop develop this important project! Save the dates for a series of community design events and check our website for more information.

* Thanks to Seattle's DON Matching Fund, SDOT Neighborhood Street Fund and our partners at Seattle Parks and Rec.
