President's Message
Aloha Chamber members:
“Buy Local” has long been supported here on the islands. As your Chamber, we are participating in a national initiative to encourage shopping or utilizing services at local small businesses on November 26, 2016—“Small Business Saturday,” the first Saturday after Thanksgiving.
Across the islands the heart of commerce beats proudly from downtown areas, to communities and neighborhoods – small businesses are everywhere in our state and comprise more than 90 percent of companies in Hawaii.
The Chamber will be promoting our and your fellow members this Small Business Saturday. If you are a small business and are interested in participating in this campaign, we can include your company in our communications as a partnering member. Additionally, we can send you promotional copy and graphics for posting on your social media and online channels, and for emailing your customers, and also small POP signs that you can print out and use at check-out. These materials can be used to encourage your customers to visit your and other small businesses on November 26, take photos and post them on social media—boosting your company’s social media presence while participating in this national initiative!
Please email Communications and Events Manager Chelsea Bowes if you’re interested in participating in this promotion and we’ll send you materials.
While this campaign takes place on one day nationwide, we encourage everyone to support a small business every day as these businesses keep our economy moving.
Also, if you have not yet taken the Federal Reserve Bank Small Business Survey, we encourage you to participate so that we are more aware of the types of resources that are needed to support your business. Survey link can be found here and closes November 23, 2016.
