President's Message

Aloha Chamber members:

Our team's mantra this year is GRIT, GROWTH and GREATER GOOD, with Growth focused on membership. The more members and investors we have, the stronger we can be on the advocacy front and the more resources we can provide to our membership. This is why we have an ambitious goal of 2016 members by the end of 2016.
We often hear that prospects don’t join or members don't renew because they “don’t have time to use the membership.” However, whether or not a business can take advantage of benefits, a Shapiro Group and Market Street Services study shows that membership, alone, brings credibility and consumers are more likely to think favorably and purchase goods and services from a member business. Other benefits include:

Imagine Hawaii without a statewide Chamber. Who would serve as the “voice of business” at the Legislature and review the thousands of bills that are introduced every session. Who would serve as the watchdog for bills that would increase the cost of doing business, put on events and educational seminars that provide helpful resources and information to businesses, provide opportunities to connect members, not only within our state, but from state-to-state or internationally?
It is for these reasons, that we ask for your support so your Chamber can continue to grow and serve as your voice. If you are not a member, we strongly encourage you to join and be a part of our ohana. If you are a member and have a referral(s), please email our membership team.

Join us as we march forward, serving as a catalyst for positive change.
On a separate note, our team is pleased to welcome a member from our military ohana, Chelsea Bowes, who joins us as our Communications and Events Manager. We look forward to her contributions.
In last week’s message, I inadvertently listed the wrong election date. The correct date is November 8. My apologies.
Laulima & mahalo,
Sherry Menor-McNamara
