Since Parliament returned at the start of the month, without the hybrid proceedings enabling remote participation, I've been back in Westminster - and shocked at the refusal of most Tories to wear face masks.
I've also been finalising arrangements for my annual Big Conversation which starts next month - I hope you'll join in and do let me know if you can help deliver surveys.
As Kabul fell, I joined cross party MPs in writing to the Home Secretary calling for an urgent resettlement scheme, as Co-Chair of the International Students APPG I pressed the Prime Minister on behalf of Afghan students and took up the cases of over 50 local families.
Housing refugees safely
After the tragic death of five-year-old Mohammed Munib Majeedi I pressed the Home Secretary, with other Sheffield MPs, for an independent inquiry. More here.
I joined constituents and leaseholders from around the UK caught up in the devastating building safety crisis in a rally outside Parliament (more here) and met Mandale House residents on the issues they face.
Challenging the PM on 'social care plan'
I challenged Boris Johnson on his long-awaited plan which failed to address the issues causing the social care crisis and didn't even mention unpaid carers including young carers.
Supporting young carers
My challenge to the PM on young carers followed a contribution I made to a debate on the huge number of children and young people with caring responsibilities. More here.
I've been selected for Labour's team to challenge the Nationality and Borders Bill as it's considered 'line-by-line' in a Public Bill Committee starting this week. See my views on the Bill here.
I spoke at a local meeting making the case for replacing 'first past the post' with a system of proportional representation for Council and Westminster elections.
Big Conversation - can you help?
My Big Conversation starts in mid-October, but my survey's online already (do complete it here). Volunteers will be delivering copies to more than 40,000 homes across the constituency - let me know if you can give an hour or two to help.
Opposing the Elections Bill
Along with Labour colleagues, I opposed the widely condemned Elections Bill on which many constituents have written to me expressing concern on how it undermines the Electoral Commission and favours the Conservative Party.
Grey to Green
I spoke at the launch of phase 2 of the Grey to Green project that's transforming the Castlegate area to attract investment in an environmentally friendly way, a great local sustainability initiative. More here.
