A huge welcome to The Isles of Scilly Seamship Group

The Isles of Scilly Steamship Group (ISSG) is a historic company dating back to 1920. It provides a year-round passenger and cargo services between the UK mainland and the Isles of Scilly, 45 km off the British south west coast. In addition to operating passenger and freight ships, ISSG also has its own airline, Skybus, which runs flights from Exeter, Newquay and Land’s End airports to St Mary’s on the Isles.

The bookings for the freight ferry, for the passenger ferry and for the fleet of eight aircraft will all be handled using the BOOKIT. This a very exciting project for us, not least since it is the first time that we will support airline travel.

“We hope for a long lasting and fruitful relationship with Hogia. We are confident that BOOKIT will enable us to streamline our business, increase what we can offer today and significantly improve the customer experience”, CEO Robert Goldsmith.

Välkommen to the beautiful island of Ornö

Lying in the Stockholm archipelago is the beautiful island of Ornö.  The ferry service operates between Dalarö and Ornö for commuters and summer tourists.  This essential lifeline service is community owned and run. There are some 300 people living on the island all year round, but that number increases during the summer months as tourists visit to enjoy the calm and solitude of the island.
BOOKIT will be live in 2017 bringing new automation to their service.  This will allow commuters and visitors alike an improved, simplified and more convenient travelling experience.

Riverside Marine start a brand new service from Victoria to Vancouver

V2V Vacations is a tourism transportation service, bringing visitors directly from Vancouver harbour to Victoria harbour. They are a Victoria-based company who dreamed of creating a way for visitors to travel to Victoria in a convenient and comfortable manner, while still able to take in the beautiful scenic waters of the region.

The idea was envia vision of Riverside Marine's CEO, Hume Campbell, and his wife Rowan Campbell.  Being lovers of the sea, they longed for a way to get directly to beautiful Victoria from Vancouver without sacrificing the ocean experience.

The operation is set to begin in 2017.

A very British 4th of July for Red Funnel

Her Royal Highness The Princess Royal officially named Red Funnel's brand new high-speed passenger vessel, Red Jet 6, at a ceremony in Cowes on the Isle of Wight.

"We would very much like the thanks HRH The Princes Royal for naming Red Jet 6.  The ship is the first of her kind to be built in Great Britain for 16 years, and it is only fitting that the naming ceremony take place where she was built.

"Red Jet 6 represents a £6m investment by Red Funnel in marine manufacturing on the Island and the team at Shemara Refit can be extremely proud of not only building a ship of such high quality, but also for delivering it on time and on budget.  Red Jet 6 adds a significant increase in capacity to our Southampton - West Cowes route, and we are confident she will help grow the market by offering ground breaking levels of passenger comfort, reliability and safety."

Kevin George, CEO Red Funnel.
