8 BELLS
8 Bells: Chuck Lowry
With sadness, we note the passing of Chuck Lowry of Seattle, a lifelong sailor, supporter of our sport and clubs and Secretary of ICOYC.

Chuck and Pam Lowry enjoyed a lifetime of sailing the Salish Sea together. They joined Seattle Yacht Club in 1977 where Chuck was chairman of numerous committees, Club Treasurer and Commodore in 2012. He was instrumental in bringing a fleet of small sailboats to the Club that are still being used today.
Chuck was active in the International Council of Yacht Clubs, serving as Vice President of the Americas and was serving as Secretary of the Council and Representative of his club at the time of his passing. His involvement in ICOYC led he and Pam to numerous travels around the world to participate in Forums and cruises, making many friends throughout the world.

During the 49 summers that Chuck and Pam were married, they always spent time boating in the San Juan and Gulf Islands, along with visits at a family cabin on Lindbergh Lake in Montana. Chuck was loved and respected for his calm demeanor, measured thoughts and understanding smile.
