UOAQ Newsflash #09 - When Two Into One Won't Go

Dear Subscriber,

The Unit Owners Association of Queensland (UOAQ) welcomes the recent LookUp Strata articles from Frank Higginson of Hynes Legal Conditioning Management Rights Assignments and Mario Esera of Piper Alderman Removing a Terrible Caretaker - Why Climbing Mt. Everest May Be Easier

These two articles highlight just some of the many difficulties of managing caretaker/letting agents.  They also acknowledge the industry-wide changes which are happening, as more and more bodies corporate realise the benefits of closer scrutiny of management agreement extensions, premature top-ups and assignments.

Our strata world is an important part of the Queensland community:  there now are more than 428,000 residential units in this state, and the number is growing at an exponential rate.  Strata lawyers also have a very important, and informed role in our strata community.

We are encouraged and buoyed that prestigious legal firms like Hynes Legal and Piper Alderman are sharing their experiences, and understanding, with our unit owners. I encourage you to read/view these articles… they are most informative.

President
