They call it progress . . .
It's going to be a difficult summer at the adoption centre. Manitoba Hydro is running new lines under Madison and our back lane, so the roads will be dug up for a large part of the summer. This will make access to our shop a little difficult, but we will maintain our schedule unless the roads are completely shut down.
When we first learned of the project we were very concerned that the noise and vibration from the work would be too stressful for the cats. Hydro has been very responsive to our concerns, and has modified the work method to minimize noise, vibration and stress for the cats. We are very grateful for their attentiveness to the health of the cats.
In the Good Old Summer Time
Summer is officially here, school will be out in just a few days, and everyone has vacation on their minds. This includes our staff, volunteers and donors, making it very difficult for us to find enough money to pay the bills and people to care for the cats. Our need for both money and people is greatest during the summer months, and we ask you to remember the cats. A few dollars or a couple of hours go a long way toward making sure that the cats are well cared for.
50 / 50 Draw
Our summer 50/50 draw is less than 2 weeks away. Tickets are available from CSC volunteers, at all of our events, and at our adoption centre. Just $2 buys you a chance at up to $2,500. Don't miss out -- get your tickets today! If you would like to sell a book or two, please drop into the adoption centre to sign them out. The draw is July 6th.
A Tail of Two Kitties
The Manitoba Cat Club / Prairie Feline Fanciers joint cat show is coming up July 5th and 6th. The show is being held at the Holiday Inn, 1740 Ellice Ave. CSC will be there, with cats and a fundraising booth. We could use some help at our booth, and the cat club has asked for some help, as well. If you can spare a few hours please sign up at our volunteer spot.
