3 Heroes
5 Powers

3 Superheroes of Peace and nonviolence use their powers to change the course of world history.

The Secret of the 5 Powers addresses timeless, yet contemporary issues, weaving powerfully illustrated comic book animation, historic archive documents and modern film footage into an entertaining, inspiring, heart-touching story.

Through the experiences of the films protagonists; Alfred Hassler, an American anti-war superhero, Vietnamese peace activist Sister Chan Khong and Zen Master Thich Nhat Hanh, whom Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. nominated for the Nobel Peace Prize in 1967, the audience is confronted with a variety of challenging and complex issues.

"In the world we are asking, How can our children grow up to be peace-builders? How can they learn to use the conflicts of the past to provide compost for lasting harmony in our communities, our nations, and the world?

Planting seeds is a film to answer these questions.

It is a project to show us how mindfulness can help to water the seeds of beauty and goodness in each child, and, importantly, how each child can learn to water those seeds in themselves, their parents, teachers and others for their lifetime, and for successive generations.

We are beyond the time of saying that such an education is desirable. For the health, sustainability, and happiness of our global community, it is now our only real option."

- Brother Phap Luu, Plum Village France.

"Walk With Me"
Speakit Films

Today, mindfulness is in vogue and rapidly becoming more mainstream as armies of business consultants, lifestyle specialists, and self-styled gurus eagerly sell their own brand of mindfulness into schools, corporations, hospitals and government agencies.

But whilst the popularisation of mindfulness is a welcome trend, it risks becoming a commodity in the global marketplace where the essence of the original teachings loses its true meaning.

In May 2011, at the height of this mindfulness boom in the west, Thich Nhat Hanh’s monastics invited filmmakers Marc Francis and Max Pugh into their monasteries to witness the depths of their practice and the essence of their mindful living.

Filming in the depths of winter in their main monastery in Plum Village, France, they also travelled on the road with Thich Nhat Hanh and his monastics to Europe and North America; capturing their journey from Vancouver to Mississippi, New York, Washington, San Diego, London and finally back again to Plum village.

Honest and heart warming, Walk With Me touches on the universal themes of belonging, love, loss, hope and death relevant for not just Thich Nhat Hanh’s monks and nuns but for us all.
