Worship Returns In-Person

Mother's Day, May 9, 10am
FPC Session announces the return to in-person worship in the Sanctuary on Mother's Day. Adhering to the safe re-entry policy: contact tracing, masking, socially distancing at a reduced capacity, and unfortunately still no singing for the time being. We will always broadcast worship via Facebook Live! Join us either way and welcome back!

Worship Sunday @ 10am
We're almost back in-person but until then, join us virtually for our live worship broadcast Sundays at 10am via Facebook Live or recorded posting both on Facebook and our website. If you'd like to support flowers in our worship email the office or call 908.832.2154 for details. See more about flowers below. Scriptures this week: Psalm 22; Acts 8:26-40; 1 John 4:7-21; John 15:1-8.

Connect - Coffee Potter Group

Weather is beautiful, wish you were here! Join the Coffee Potter group Tuesdays for a walk on the path starting at 10am and coffee at 11. Connect - Bible Studies

Mondays at 7pm on Zoom. Real. Life.  We cover the scriptures from Sunday's worship. What does it say about us today? What does it say about God today? What does it say about our relationship with God? How does it speak to our community? Get the link.

Wednesdays at 8am at Oscar's Deli in Califon. Good coffee, good company, and current events. Come have breakfast, solve the world's problems, and eventually we get around to talking Bible. Everybody invited!

Wednesdays at 7pm on Zoom. This amazing Ecclesiastes study continues! Marg Peterson hosts an amazing deep-dive study into Ecclesiastes. The whole world is invited!

FPC Mission Coordinator?

Fairmount is looking for our new Mission Coordinator/Mission Chair! Is it you? You don't have to be a session member or the "doer" of all missions. We simply need someone to coordinate and help promote our mission projects like soup collections, or promoting cooperative projects with other area churches like the Appalachian Service Project. This volunteer job really isn't hard and the rewards are huge! Contact any session member or Scott for more details.

Mission - Haytown Pantry

Pass this along to your networks! The Haytown Nursery School Community Pantry is now open at the Community House. How awesome is this? Bring food items as you can—anytime day or night. Leave what you have—take what you need. Jesus says "I am the bread of life, whoever comes to me will never be hungry, and whoever believes in me will never be thirsty." Download the flyer for more...

Mission - Soup...Thank You!

The Ecumenical Mission Group thanks you for your support of the soup drive this winter. Thank you for cooking! And thanks to our Sunday School students for making cards of encouragement to deliver with the soup! We are always in need of gift cards to the local grocery stores for those in need. Contact the church office for details on how to drop them off—908.832.2154.

Haiku by Cheryl

Cheryl writes Haiku poetry every week based on Sunday's worship and the Monday night Bible Talk. This week:

On Acts 4:5-12
Peter stood his ground
Today we can do the same
Give God all the praise

On John 10:11-18
Christ or hired hand
Who stays and who runs away
All in Christ care stay

On Long Game sermon
GOOD is beautiful
Jesus is THE GOOD shepherd
Long game BE CHRIST GOOD

Reflections:
Painful as may be
Lessons may be learned straying
Return home clearer

Are glory seekers
Being purposely God-used
Furthering His plan

False modesty lies
God given joy diminished
"Devil" shaming you

Bless you, Cheryl! Do you write poetry, prose, or reflections? Submit your offerings to the Focus at this mailbox

Respite

I can’t tell you how many times I’ve had this conversation lately.

Commute—(15 second walk to the desk). Zoom all day. Commute. Answer email until late. Sleep (hopefully). Repeat.
Weekends: Crazy too—non-stop, masked-up, still over-programmed, kids/grandkids sports, drama, dance, music—all from a social distance.
And church. Church? Sure, Facebook Live! Yeah, I know, right? One more thing...
