It's time for Nextfest!
Do you know where your artist is?

Nextfest, is one of the largest festivals of its kind in Canada. Every year Nextfest draws hundreds of talented young artists for 11-days dedicated to the creation and presentation of art.

This year, we face a unique challenge with the loss of both The Roxy Theatre and the ARTery. The Roxy Theatre housed theatre, dance, film, poetry, visual art and many additional events; The ARTery housed the infamous NiteClubs and the Nextfest music series. These two venues cannot be easily replaced. In fact, the Nextfest team has had to find individual venues for each discipline. Having multiple venues spread across the city will create wide spread excitement and audience engagement, but will also put strain on our resources.

You can help support Nextfest and their artists in their development by participating in the Adopt-an-Artist program. At $100 per adoption, the program assures that the emerging artists who participate in Nextfest 2015 get a first-rate experience in the professional arts world and are remunerated for their work. With every $100 adoption, you can select an artist or artist in a specific discipline to “adopt”. All Adopters will receive a charitable receipt for the full amount donated from Theatre Network. Additionally, The Nextfest Arts Company will also provide a complimentary festival pass and t-shirt.

The adoption options are endless! Adopt a specific artist, an artist in a chosen field or let us decide for you! Give the Theatre Network office a call (780.453.2440) and together we can help make sure our artists get home safe so they can create.

Here comes Nextfest!

June 4-14
Various locations all over Edmonton

Nextfest is the voice of the next generation. It is an 11-day multifaceted festival driven by up-and-coming creative forces. We develop, create and showcase the bold voices of more than 700 artists. In 2015, Nextfest welcomes an electric line up of over 90 events and installations taking place in over 29 venues around Edmonton.

With the loss of the Roxy and the ARTery the team has been working hard to lock down a variety of performance venues. You can now find Nextfest
all over the city of Edmonton including various locations along 124 Street, Campus St. Jean Auditorium, The Mercury Theatre, The Stanley Milner Library and Westmount Community Hall – to name a few.

Dancing for the Roxy

Pique Dance Centre presents
Dancing for a Cause
May 31 @ 7:30pm
The Westbury Theatre in the ATB Financial Arts Barns

Our friends at Pique Dance Centre approached us in March asking how they could support TN as we recover from the fire at the Roxy. They were interested in donating a portion of ticket sales from their upcoming dance recital directly to Theatre Network. We are extremely honoured to have their support at the upcoming recital on May 31, Dancing for a Cause in the Westbury Theatre in the ATB Financial Arts Barns.

Many groups in the city have come forward to support us and our appreciation for organizations like Pique Dance Centre runs deep. The arts community in Edmonton hasn't forgotten the Roxy and events like this remind us how important the building was to Edmontonians.

We encourage you to attend the event and support Pique Dance Centre. You can find out more info
