Lost & Found

During the quake many frightened pets lost their homes. Animal Nepal helps pet owners find their lost ones, with the help of newspaper ads and a special website.
 

Building Capacity

A preliminary survey learns that close to 150.000 birds, 8000 buffaloes and cows and 14,500 pigs and goats died during the earthquake. Countless animals got injured. Animal Nepal, with the help of World Vets, builds the capacity of vets and paravets to treat the injured ones.

Employing three veterinary teams. Animal Nepal in the wake of the disaster treated around 900 animals in Kathmandu, Lalitpur, Dhading and Sindhupalchowk districts. We also reached out to 20 dogs that got badly injured and two lost kittens...

Hari Krishna on the ruins of his house
"I was taking an afternoon nap with my son as it was my day off. All I remember is that the bed started shaking. I don't really remember how I came outside. But as soon as I stepped out, my house collapsed in front of my eyes," says Hari Krishna Shrestha, Paravet with Animal Nepal.
