INSTITUTE FOR WORSHIP STUDIES HOLDS COMMENCEMENT CEREMONY

Fourteenth Commencement features the Rev'd Dr. Kyle Reese as Commencement speaker at Orange Park-based graduate school

ORANGE PARK, Fla. – The Robert E. Webber Institute for Worship Studies (IWS) celebrated its 14th annual Commencement ceremony on Sunday, June 14, 2015 with the graduation of 37 Masters and Doctoral students.

“We are so proud to congratulate our distinguished graduates,” said President James R. Hart, who presided over the Commencement. “Their achievements in the study and ministry of worship leadership have brought worship renewal to many places all over this country and across the globe—lands as far away as Malaysia, Myanmar and Poland. The mission and ministry of God's Kingdom has been advanced around the world through the faithful labors of these graduates.”

Guest preacher for the Commencement was the Rev'd Dr. Kyle Reese, senior pastor of Hendricks Avenue Baptist Church in Jacksonville, FL. Dr. Reese serves on the boards of OneJax, Youth leadership Jacksonville, Baptist News Global and Baptist Medical Center of Jacksonville. In his Commencement sermon he proclaimed, “Worship is not dependent upon what you do week-in and week-out. It’s not based on your creativity alone [or] on your gifts. The worship of God has a history among the people of God—a history that you receive as gift and grace. And it grows up where it will, inspired by the Spirit.”
