Easter weekend is upon us and this year, we encourage prayer or meditation, as well as stillness and quiet reflection. While the world adjusts to a new normal, and we in Antigua and Barbuda adhere to curfew guidelines, there's no better time to reflect, readjust, and refocus.
Our Easter traditions in Antigua have changed this year. Church services will be held online and the Annual Kite Festival has gone digital. Kite enthusiasts are encouraged to make their own kites, fly them on Easter Monday from their yards, and record and submit short videos of their kite flights.
We wish everyone a safe and enjoyable Easter weekend!
With the current challenges of reduced shopping hours and the need to stay home as much as possible many food-related businesses are offering different services.
To help you source new food suppliers, we’ve started to pull together a list of the different options across Antigua for supermarkets, wholesale distributors, farmers, fishermen, and artisans, including those offering delivery services.
Although we're allowed to go out and get provisions between the hours of 7am-12pm daily, we still need to make fewer visits than we may be used to. If you have the funds to do so, please stock up for as long as possible or use home delivery services. This will mean that those with less storage space, or who are less financially able will encounter smaller lines at grocery stores.
