Antigua Sailing Week 2016, started on Saturday, April 23rd with the first day of racing on Sunday, bringing out a large number of spectators to watch the exciting action on the water. Great conditions continued for racing on Monday and Tuesday, and the crews enjoyed the beach fun, games and sailing at the Presidente Lay Day Beach Party yesterday. Even on the day off, racing continued with the 4th Nonsuch Bay RS Elite Challenge, with two heats of four teams racing to make the four-boat final. This year's teams boasted a star-studded collection of sailors from the Olympics, America's Cup, Volvo Ocean Race and World Match Racing Tour. The overall winner of the challenge was double Olympic Silver medalist, and winning skipper of the 2015 Volvo Ocean Race, Ian Walker.

Racing continues today, and from 6:00 pm this evening, dine under the stars with a tasty Seafood dinner at Copper & Lumber Store Hotel. The final race of the regatta is set for tomorrow, followed by the Final Awards Ceremony and After Party in Nelson's Dockyard. Join in the celebration with live entertainment by Asher Otto and Itchyfeet plus DJ Tanny until midnight.

On Saturday, Dockyard Day in Nelson's Dockyard marks the end of Antigua Sailing Week with the children's procession, the Beating of the Retreat, Prize Giving of the Schools' Art Competition, along with live music and DJs.
