USU Urban Update
March 2016

From the Vice President

The USU Student Performance strand will be having it's first webinar of 2016 this month, Collaborating for Change: Collaborative Approaches to Advancing Student Performance, on Tuesday, March 22, 2016 at 2:00 pm ET. Three institutions, Rutgers University - Newark, University of Wisconsin–Milwaukee and Virginia Commonwealth University, will be discussing how they have prioritized collaboration on campus and with the community to advance student success. Click here for your FREE registration.

APLU and USU invite you to the official launch of Collaborating for Change on Thursday March 31 from 2:00 to 4:00 pm ET at the National Press Club First Amendment Lounge. Collaborating for Change is a six-year initiative implemented by USU and APLU, and supported by the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, to work with urban serving universities to plan and implement transformational—often disruptive—approaches to advance student success efforts. These efforts are particularly focused on helping high need and traditionally at-risk students while keeping costs down, reexamining business models, and reaching deeper into the community.

Remember to save the date for the USU Summer Meeting on June 27 to 28, 2016 in Portland, OR. We look forward to seeing you there!
